چکیده
Biochemistry and Pharmacokinetics Thiamine functions as a coenzyme in more than 24 enzymes, most importantly pyruvate dehydrogenase (for energy production in the Krebs cycle), transketolase (for lipid and glucose metabolism, production of branched chain amino acids, and production and maintenance of myelin sheath), and 2-oxo-glucarate dehydrogenase (for synthesis of acetylcholine, GABA, and glutamate). Thiamine is necessary in the functioning of the hexose monophosphate shunt, an anabolic pathway used proportionately more in adrenal cortex, leukocytes, erythrocytes, and mammary gland tissue. Thiamine is crucial in glucose energy-utilizing pathways, particularly in the central nervous system, which needs a continuous supply of glucose. Thiamine has also been shown to mimic acetylcholine in the brain, which may explain its possible action in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The body stores approximately 25-30 mg of thiamine, mainly in skeletal muscle, heart, brain, liver, and kidneys – organs with high metabolic need. In a deficient state, body stores can be depleted in 2-3 weeks. As early as one week after thiamine stores are depleted the blood-brain barrier is disrupted and local cerebral hypoperfusion results, leading to the classic signs of Wernicke’s encephalopathy.

Correlation of results between validated in-house analysis method with new pharmacopeia monograph for analysis of Sitagliptin Phosphate API
Having validated analysis methods for medicinal ingredients is attractive for pharmaceutical companies. When a new molecule is introduced to the market, there is not any pharmacopeial analysis method for that. After publishing official methods, correlation between validated in-house methods and the official one could stablish the value of the in-house method. Sitagliptin phosphate is a new anti...
متن کاملSome Applications of the Principle of Differential Subordination
By applying the principle of differential subordination between analytic functions to a substantially general family of linear transformations, we derive an extension of the Briot-Bouquet differential subordination relations given in the monograph on the subject by Miller and Mocanu [8]. We also present a systematic discussion of various other linear transformations associated with differential...
متن کاملA Monograph of Verticillium Section Prostrata
Section Prostrata of the genus Verticillium was introduced by GAMS (1971) to separate verticillium-like anamorphs of the Clavicipitaceae from other species of the genus that were known or supposed to have affinities with other families of the Hypocreales. Other sections of Verticillium were subsequently described by GAMS & VAN ZAAYEN (1982). MESSNER et al. (1996) showed that the most important ...
متن کاملAlmost periodic sequences with respect to orthogonal polynomials
Let (Rn(x))n∈N0 be an orthogonal sequence inducing a polynomial hypergroup on N0. The basic facts on polynomial hypergroups and their characters can be found in the monograph [1] or in the papers [6, 7]. A recent review is [8]. The Banach space of almost periodic functions on hypergroups is introduced and studied by the author in [5]. Weakly almost periodic functions are the topic of [12]. It i...
